4 Months Old…

My little baby turns 4 months old today! It’s amazing how the time flies now that I’m staying home with her. She has already started to develop her own personality. She’s got her little quirks, her likes and dislikes and she definitely knows the difference between people (especially knows when mama isn’t around!). She’s been on and off with regards to sleeping through the night. We’ve had a few good stretches here and there, but the majority of the time she still wakes up to eat, but since I’m currently not working, I don’t mind so much getting up with her.

We had her 4 month check-up at the doctor today. She weighed in at 13 lb. 4 oz. and is 24″ long. She is in the “average” category for weight and height, which is very reassuring when you’re nursing because it’s the only way to tell if they are getting enough to eat. Since she’s been really good at putting on weight, we won’t start her on any solid foods until she’s 6 months old.

She’s currently got two nicknames in our household: Peanut, because she was so small when she was born and The Little Diva, because, as you can guess, she is one! She is definitely not a passive, easy-going baby. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a good baby, but when she wants something, she wants it now and is not going to wait! So, if she is hungry, tired or needs a new diaper, I have to attend to her needs very promptly or else there will be a major meltdown! She is just a very passionate girl (:

She’s just started learning how to grab things, so she is starting to actually play with her toys instead of just looking at them. It is so fun to just sit back and watch her trying to figure things out and taking it all in. She is fascinated with anything that moves (her mobile, ceiling fans, leaves blowing in the wind, etc.) and also has really taken an interest in the dogs! She’s really at a fun stage right now. I wish I could just stop time and keep her like this forever (although it would be nice to get a full nights sleep).
